Getting to the canyon from Alanya
You drive away from the sea to reach water. The lake is the Manavgat river stopped behind the Oymapınar dam, up in the Western Taurus, and the day is the opposite of a coastal boat trip: no swell, no open crossing, no waiting for dolphins — a flooded canyon with pine walls and swimming stops in fresh water.

Seventy-five to eighty-five minutes each way is the free-flow figure, and the real ride is longer once the coach has collected everyone. This is a full day out of an Alanya holiday. If a short outing is what you want, this is not it — and we would rather write that than sell it another way.
