Getting to the canyon from Side
There is a reason this lake belongs on a Side holiday. Dumanlı, the karst spring that fed the ancient town's aqueduct, was proposed in the peer-reviewed literature as the largest spring of its kind in the world — and it disappeared when the Oymapınar reservoir filled. It now lies under roughly 120 m of water. Around forty arches of that aqueduct still stand near the dam, so the water you cruise is the water the town was built around.

How pickup really works
Hotel pickup is arranged with the booking. A coach works a set route through the resort, so the exact time is confirmed the day before rather than promised at checkout — a hotel collected first waits at the port, a hotel collected last leaves late. What you get in exchange is one of the shortest transfers on our list, and a lake that is flat fresh water — no swell, no open crossing, and shade under the pines when the beach is at its hottest.
